Autiobriography : photocopy of holograph, ca. 1900.

This collection contains a photocopy of a handwritten autobiography written by Patience Loader Rozsa Archer. The original autobiography consists of three notebooks: one stationary tablet, and two ledger bound notebooks. The contents deal with her life, experiences, and recollections. The autobiography seems to be taken from diaries, as there is a great deal of detail. It records part of the life of Patience Archer. It tells of her childhood in England, sea voyage to New York, and crossing of the American Plains with the Mormon pioneers. This is one of the best and most detailed accounts of the Martin handcart company in 1856.
